Alejandro Aguilar
UPSL Premier Coach

My name is Alejandro Aguilar, and I hail from the beautiful land of Costa Rica. My journey through the world of soccer has been nothing short of exhilarating, marked by numerous highs and a fair share of challenges. From my early days in the Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Academy to donning the colors of various clubs across different continents, my career has been a testament to my dedication, perseverance, and love for the beautiful game of soccer.

Born and raised in Costa Rica, soccer was ingrained in my blood from a young age. It was at the Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Academy where I first stepped onto the pitch, learning the intricacies of the game that would shape my future. Surrounded by passionate coaches and mentors, I honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of the sport during my youth career in the academy.

My professional journey kicked off with Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, where I showcased my talent and made a mark as a promising young player. From there, I embarked on a journey that took me to clubs like Carmelita, Club Sport Cartagines, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, FC ARIZONA, and Sporting FC. Each club presented unique challenges and opportunities, allowing me to grow both as a player and as an individual.

Throughout my career, I competed in prestigious tournaments such as the Costa Rica First Division, USL, and NPSL, testing my skills against some of the best in the business. As a versatile player, I have occupied various positions on the field, but my primary roles have been as a striker and center midfielder. Earning the title of top scorer in 2013 in Costa Rica's regular season.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to taste success on multiple occasions, clinching six league titles, a domestic cup, and even participating in the prestigious CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) Champions League.

I represented my country on the international stage remains one of the highlights of my career. With a solitary official game and a friendly match for the Costa Rica National Team under my belt, I am proud to have donned the colors of my nation.

Beyond the confines of the soccer pitch, I find solace in simple pleasures such as BBQing with friends and family and indulging in my love for the NBA. These hobbies offer me a much-needed respite from the rigors of professional sports and allow me to recharge both physically and mentally.

Alejandro boasts an impressive array of licenses and accolades in the realm of coaching, including a US Soccer D Coaching License, a Costa Rica Coaching License, and a United Coaches Player Development Certificate. These certifications demonstrate his commitment to honing his skills and expertise in nurturing and developing soccer players.
